The Yukon story arc begins with Calvin deciding to separate from his family, and along with Hobbes decided to run away to the Yukon.

However, they did not reach the Yukon as shortly after they left, they had an argument and Calvin left Hobbes in the woods. Later, Calvin's father found Hobbes and brought him back.This story arc provided the title for the book Yukon Ho!
