The woods behind Calvin's house expand over about 15 acres [citation needed]. Some of this area was destroyed when part of the forest was clear-cut to make way for a new development of condominiums. It is in this forest that Calvin's wagon often crashes over conveniently-placed cliffs. Calvin and Hobbes take walks in here frequently. There are a few rivers and creeks, including Hobbes Creek, a creek named and discovered by Hobbes.
