  • Good day to you, ElectricSupernova,

To introduce myself, I am an administrator on the Garfield wiki, along with two others, namely TeeJay87 and Low Spark of Lyman. As of late, we've been thinking of building an alliance with you, hopefully alongside the Peanuts wiki (provided they accept). It shall be a union between wikis concerning comics strips. If you'd like, we can negotiate further conditions, and ultimately build up the union. We hope you will accept our offer.

    Best wishes, Cooljoe01.

    • Great to hear. When will you be free to further discuss the matter?

    • Hello. I'm sorry for the late response. Even though I'm not Electric, I can still add you as one of our affiliates for now, if you wish.

    • The comic union is to be much more than just adding each other as affiliates. The whole plan is to help eachother in certain aspects. I'm planning to get an exact plan done soon. Please be patient.

    • I understand, what I meant was I was proposing that we could start with that for now.

Oh, sure. It certainly would be a good start. Thank you in advance.

    • As promised, I have the rules done. If you have an opposition to any, just notify me:

      1) – No wiki is above all, and each have their equal say.
      2) – The union system shall run under a democratic rule. Voting shall take place among the administrators in order to introduce or argue about new/old rules, provided they have a rational argument.
      3) Each administrator is entitled to their opinion, and with a provided rational argument, can change their views whenever they feel it to be necessary.
      4) – Wikis are not held to their position, and can exit or rejoin whenever they feel it to be a choice idea. This doesn’t apply to wikis previously ousted from the union for the specific reasoning.
      5) – Any type of vandalism is disagreed upon, and any administrator who exhibits any behaviour of the kind will be ousted.
      6) – If a contributor brings forth an idea to any member of the union, members will need to give their opinions, and ultimately decide if it’s needed or not.
      7) – If a union wiki is in need of assistance concerning maintenance (i.e. articles, images, etc.), voluntary help can be provided by other union members. Union members can back out if they suddenly become unavailable.
      8) – If a union wiki is in need of assistance concerning translation into a foreign language, voluntary help can be provided by other union members. Union members can back out if they suddenly become unavailable.
      9) – In the case of a large-scale vandal attack, all union members will be granted temporary administrative positions in order to co-cooperatively combat the happenings.
      10) – Aggressive arguments should be overall be avoided by union members, and general friendliness should be exhibited.

    • Wow, that's great. I approve for now, but I think we should still try to wait for Electric, since he's the head admin. A couple of questions, though:

      • Would all the admins have some kind of Discord/group chat/form of communication to discuss/vote on possible issues?
      • Who else is in right now?
      • How can a wiki join?

That's completely fine, and I think that would be a good idea.

      "A couple of questions, though:"

      As many as you'd like.

"Would all the admins have some kind of Discord/group chat/form of communication to discuss/vote on possible issues?"

That's exactly what we have in mind. All Garfield admins currently use a Discord chat channel, and we'd hopefully like to have one for the union.

"Who else is in right now?"

Beside the Garfield (Me, TeeJay87 & Low Spark of Lyman) and Peanuts (Peter Simon Hughes & Koavf) wiki, no one currently. However, we plan to expand, and have multiple wikis in mind.

      "How can a wiki join?"

There are two ways one can join the union:

      A) - Being approached by a union member.

B - By merely asking a union member.

    • Alright, thanks. We do have a Discord, even though I am the only admin active on Discord. Maybe we could create the server/form of group chat sometime soon and one of us could start drafting a project page?

By a server, I assume you mean a chat channel? Sure thing. If we do start a group chat, I'll see if I can get the other Garfield wiki admins to join.

Alright then, let's get started. I'm on Discord now.
