A typical snow fort scenario, January 10 1995.
Calvin often builds snow forts in winter. He will usually declare them to be impregnable fortresses, only to be struck by a snowball from Hobbes.
Calvin's only truly impenetrable fort was circular and very tall, concealing Calvin and blocking snowballs. However, Calvin presumably had to be rescued out as there was no exit built in.
He endeavored to build a giant fort as part of an elaborate plan to snowball Susie Derkins, and another one that he dropped because he felt better by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa. Neither of these projects ever came to be.
