Smooching is a minor plot element that involves Hobbes's sentimentality towards girls. It usually results in Calvin rebutting or the two fighting. In one strip, Hobbes claims that Calvin smooched a girl when he kissed his mom the last night. It makes Hobbes add a G.R.O.S.S. rule that smooching is optional if it's your mom.
