The Calvin and Hobbes Wiki

The Singing Food is a green blob of food made by Calvin's Mother during a Sunday Strip. In the strip, Calvin is sitting at the table, staring at his unappetizing meal in sullen disgust, when to his horror the food comes to life and begins reciting Shakespeare. During its performance, it stabs itself with a fork, as Calvin looks on. After the food's dramatic recitation, it goes silent for a few panels, then wakes up singing Louis Gasté's "Feelings". Alarmed, Calvin devours the food to shut it up. His mom then takes the plate, asking "You finished that right up! Did you like it?" to which Calvin replies, "Let's not have this ever again".
