Santa Claus appears twice in the strip: once in a poem where Calvin dreams that he is giving the presents to bad children and once when he is shown reviewing Calvin's record to determine whether he was naughty or nice. Calvin and Hobbes frequently talk about him and in one strip, Calvin questions his existence, but takes it back. Santa used accounts to judge Calvin during one strip. Although he was only shown a few times, Santa Claus is mentioned often in Calvin and Hobbes.
