The pterodactyl is a minor alter ego of Calvin's that appeared in among the Transmogrifier Gun alter egos of the first Transmogrifier Gun story arc. Although Calvin had intended the pterodactyl to be large and terrifying, Hobbes made it tiny to avoid being terrified himself. Previously, Hobbes had mistakenly turned Calvin into a chicken while distracted by lunch.
