Calvin one day finds out of too much pollution and that mostly adults are the ones held responsible for creating more factories and polluting the world. Calvin decided that he didn't want to be on Earth when it was completely enshrouded with smoke and decided to move, but Hobbes asked where they would go to. Calvin and Hobbes read about Mars and its zero population and took the wagon, which Hobbes never thought would fly, but Calvin thought Hobbes was being ignorant. Calvin said to his Mom that he was leaving the world, but her reply was for him to shut the door before flies get in. Calvin built a ramp and the wagon went off it and soon they blasted off into outerspace. Due to his dizziness, Hobbes asked what is was like to vomit in space, and Calvin answered what it would be like to walk home.

Prelude

Arrival on Mars

Though it takes years to arrive on Mars, the wagon landed on the planet Mars. The two went to find a space to settle and find an old NASA Viking and made faces at it. The two unpack and Calvin finds tuna, comics, more tuna, choclate, even more tuna, and a can opener. He also finds a night lighter and Hobbes said it might be creepy to be sleeping on a new world, and Calvin thought it was a great idea until they had to find an outlet. Calvin was soon disappointed that Hobbes forgot the camera. The two then ate candy bars and explained how life on Mars was, and Hobbes accused Calvin of throwing the wrapper on the ground, but Calvin protested and said he just put it there seconds ago. After examining the planet, Calvin said he liked it on Mars until he and Hobbes saw a tentacle move. A rock lifted and an alien came out. Hobbes and Calvin quickly dived behind a rock and Hobbes thought aliens didn't like Humans, but Calvin protested and said they weren't weirdos from another planet, like the alien is. Calvin made up his mind and said they shouldn't be messing with someone's home, but Hobbes said they were clean out of tuna.

Return to Earth

Pretty soon, Calvin and Hobbes came back to Earth and enjoyed it until it lasted. Calvin told his Dad and his Dad was not amused of the news, and Calvin said Hobbes was dumb for not bringing the camera. Calvin's Dad then asked why his suitcase smelled like tuna.
