Hobbes as a Pirate is a minor recurring alter ego of Hobbes'. He appeared three times in weekday comics along with Calvin as a Pirate.

Calvin In Pirate Form 1

Hobbes appeared in Pirate Form for the first time, along with Calvin, wearing a newspaper hat and wielding a wooden sword in his treehouse. Much like G.R.O.S.S., Calvin's "fierce and dirty band of cutthroat pirates" was hostile to girls, excluding them from the imaginary ship. However, it predated the introduction of the club, and is as such unrelated. Hobbes, due to his noticeably romantic nature, opposed this exclusion.

Calvin in Plane Form 2B

The second time they appeared, The pirates had also left the treehouse for a more tangible representation of their ship: a wooden plank. Hobbes' enthusiasm for piracy seemed to have waned, given his sarcastic comment on being unable to walk the plank when "[the] ship [was] a plank".

Calvin In Pirate Form 3

Hobbes In Pirate Form reappeared again. Here, he had regained the situation from his first appearance, operating out of the treehouse – identified as the pirate ship. Hobbes' attitude was, however, in line with the second appearance; much to Calvin's annoyance, he made light of pirate vernacular by identifying a sneaker as "booty".
