In summer, Calvin is seen playing outside in his sandbox. Typically, he will use the sandbox to build an elaborate miniature city only to destroy it in a disaster scenario. However, other purposes for which he has used it include playing out Spaceman Spiff adventures, hiding from Hobbes, or simply playing with his toy vehicles.
