Taking a bath is something that Calvin despises. He will take any measure to prevent himself from having to take a bath. Often, his mother has to drag him into the bathroom. When Calvin is in the tub, he often makes a mess.
Hiding
As soon as he hears his mother calling, Calvin immediately goes into hiding. Many times he is found, such as when he hid inside a vacuum cleaner's bag, up the chimney, and one time on the roof. Other times, the reader is left to assume that Calvin did or did not get out of taking his bath (such as when he hid in the empty bathtub). One time, he persuaded Hobbes to take the bath for him for 25 cents, only to be busted and forced to take the bath himself.
